Ogun state government has denied reports of Lassa Fever outbreak

The government of Ogun state have denied reports of Lassa Fever outbreak earlier reported in the media.

The Commissioner for Health, Mr Babatunde Ipaye said this while addressing newsmen on Tuesday, January 26, 2016.

The commissioner said the two children who were suspected to have the Lassa fever disease were let go, after their medical tests came out negative.

He has debunked the report of the disease outbreak in Ogun state.

There were reports earlier, that nineteen persons who reportedly showed symptoms of Lassa fever were placed under observation in Ogun State but the Commissioner for Health has debunked the reports.
