Amy Poehler Receives Hasty Pudding Award from Harvard

It was a homecoming of sorts for Amy Poehler, who was celebrated in song, dance and an uproarious roast on Thursday as the recipient of the 2015 Hasty Pudding Award from the Hasty Pudding Theatricals at Harvard University.

"I'd like to thank you, Hasty Pudding, for reminding me how hard it is to write funny jokes," Poehler, 43, deadpanned at the ceremony, where presenters poked fun at the Parks and Recreation star for never having won an
Emmy Award, despite being nominated more than a dozen times.

"When I was growing up in Burlington [a Boston suburb], Harvard University used to be a group of buildings we threw rocks at on our way to a real job. And as I drove by and gave the middle finger to this place, I never knew that you guys would be giving me all this s---."

Prior to the roast, where she donned a Boston College (her alma mater) cap as she rapped and feigned a romantic encounter with a
Kim Jong-un lookalike, the 2015 Golden Globes co-host was paraded around the streets of Cambridge, Massachusetts, in a Bentley convertible.

Surrounded by members of Harvard's prominent theatre group, all of whom were dressed in drag, Poehler smiled and laughed as many of the hundreds of fans who lined the parade route tried to get her attention. One threw a stuffed animal from a third-floor apartment window, another handed her a note asking her to meet him for coffee, and one even threw a condom into the car – which elicited an impromptu chant from Poehler's newfound theatre friends of, "We love safe sex," altering it from the crowd's "We love Amy" chant.

After the ceremony, where she received a gold pudding pot, Poehler spoke to reporters about another big event this week – the Super Bowl. The comedian said she will be rooting for the New England Patriots during Sunday's
big game, whereas her Parks and Recreation costar Chris Pratt, 35, will be cheering for the Seattle Seahawks.

Pratt is set to receive the esteemed Hasty Pudding Man of the Year award on Feb. 6.

"If only we could be here together," she quipped. "We could arm wrestle and solve the world's problems."

And what will Poehler be noshing on during Sunday night's game? "My favorite snack is whatever is on the table," she said.
