The death toll of the current Ebola outbreak is now 8,594, the World
Health Organization (WHO) said on Monday, January 19.
The WHO also added that
the number of confirmed cases of the disease had reached 21,614.
The new cases were
reported from the three worst-hit countries - Guinea, Liberia, and Sierra
Leone.
Sierra Leone is currently
the country with the highest number of cases (10,306), while Liberia accounts
for the most deaths (3,587) from the disease.
Cases of Ebola are
currently said to be on the decline in West Africa.
