The offices of former
vice president Namadi Sambo in the central business district, Abuja was raided
by operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) at the
weekend.
His offices were raided
on Saturday, January in search of more evidence linking him to the ongoing
investigation into the $2.1 billion arms purchase scandal, Daily Trust reports.
Sambo is under
investigation over allegations that some of the arms deal funds disbursed for
political campaigns from the office of the former national security adviser,
Sambo Dasuki, were routed through the office of the vice president.
A company owned by the
national publicity secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Olisa
Metuh, Destra Investment allegedly paid N25m to Abba Dabo, a former special
adviser to Sambo in December 2014.
