APC blasts Catholic Church for transferring Priest Ejike Mbaka

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Enugu state has condemned the Catholic Diocese in the state for transferring Reverend Fr. Ejike Mbaka.
The Transfer has made the APC of Enugu State furious.
He was transferred from the Christ the King Parish, G.R.A, to Our Lady Parish, in Emene. Enugu state, where he will serve as an assistant parish Priest.
Since his transfer the APC has made their displeasure in his transfer and they made a statement.
This is the statement issued by the APC South-East Caucus spokesman, Mr. Osita Okechukwu:
“Whereas we accept that the transfer of priests is a routine exercise of the great Catholic Church, however we do not wholly accept a situation where the church allows external forces to influence transfer as the Mbaka’s case suggests.”
He also said “Otherwise, future liberation clergy who speak truth to power will be hamstrung to the detriment of the society.
“Our major concern is the security implications and the fate of his flocks who are mostly the downtrodden who may find it difficult to go to Emene for salvation and healing.
“We frown at anything which will put Fr. Mbaka in harm’s way or deny his flocks healing.”
In his statement he expressed concerns about Mbaka’s safety, adding that most of his members might find it hard to go to Emene.
One of the notable thing he said was that “it was wrong to punish the fearless priest for his prophecies which has proved to be from God.”
I think Clergymen shouldn’t be getting themselves into politics. Politics is a dirty game in Africa and if you are not careful you will go against the will of God. A typical example is Pastor Chris Okotie. As a Pastor or an Imam you should leave politics for the politicians. What Clergymen should be focusing on is how to revive Nigeria through prayers and preaching salvation. They are called for ministry and not politics. They are called to save souls and not to join politicians to destroy Nigeria.
