Son-In-Law Of Late Terrorist Sentenced To Life Imprisonment

A New York court has sentenced Suleiman Abu Ghaith, a son-in-law of Osama bin Laden, to life in prison after finding him guilty of terrorism.
Suleiman Abu Ghaith, a son-in-law ofOsama bin Laden, has been sentenced to spend the rest of his life in prison after being found guilty of terrorism by an American court.
48-year-old Abu Ghaith was convicted today, September 23, 2014 by a Manhattan federal jury, Reuters reports.
He was indicted for conspiring to kill Americans, conspiring to provide material support for terrorists and providing such support.
The sentence was reportedly pronounced by U.S. District Judge Lewis Kaplan who said:
"You, sir, in my assessment, are committed to doing everything you can to assist al Qaeda in its mission to kill Americans,"
The convict, who was said to be unrepentant, reportedly stated in Arabic:
"Today, at the same moment when you are shackling my hands and intend to bury me alive, you are at the same time unleashing the hands of hundreds of Muslim youths,”. "And they will join the rally of the free man."
Abu Ghaith is also said to have quoted the Quran declaring that he would not beg for mercy from anyone but God.
Osama bin Laden was credited with orchestrating the September 11, 2001 attacks on the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center in New York.
Bin Laden was killed on May 2, 2011 by U.S. Special Forces during an early morning raid in Abbottabad, Pakistan.
