Governor Akinwunmi Ambode, while appointing the new boss for the
state
Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA), Chris Olape, said the
body is not discharging its duties effectively.
Ambode
in a statement said "to appoint Olakpe as the LASTMA CEO was further
said to have been necessitated owing to the fact that the impetus expected with
the previous appointment was not fully actualised due to the docile nature of
the headship of the authority.”
Adding
that ‘some new projects going on in the Victoria Island, is contributing to
the traffic situation. There has been some improvement in the traffic
situation, but we will not stop at that. We will finish the road constructions
soon and fix the pot-holes to ease traffic.’
