Bloomingdale's Apologises For 'Date Rape' Ad

Department store Bloomingdale's has been forced to apologise after an advert in its holiday catalogue appeared to reference date rape.
The one-page advert, which features a female model laughing and appearing not to notice as a male model looks at her, reads: "Spike your best friend's eggnog when they're not looking."
The image first surfaced on Imgur this week, and has been heavily criticised by Twitter users commenting with the hashtag #Bloomingdales.
Why Would a company of this might do an advert like this? This kind of advert will encourage rape? Human Rights Organizations are still trying to cut down on the number of females raped everyday and this advert is encouraging it.
Bloomingdale's, based in New York, apologised on its Twitter page
In a statement, the department store chain said: "In reflection of recent feedback, the copy we used in our recent catalogue was inappropriate and in poor taste.
"Bloomingdale's sincerely apologises for this error in judgment."
Big companies and organizations should watch what they put out as ads. Some ads can help increase profit for a company while some can destroy the image of a company. They will have to do serious PR to clean up this mess.
This advert is not the kind of advert a big company like bloomdale should have thought. Thisis an insult to feminism and women in general. This is encouraging men to drug womens drink so as to easily sexual assault them. This is poor coming from a big company like this.
