Senate President,
Bukola Saraki said the nation’s political office holders have no choice but to
deliver on their promises to the people, adding adding that those who fail to
deliver would risk being voted out by the electorate in the next elections.
Saraki stated this in a goodwill
message he delivered at the 2016 National Political Summit held on Monday,
January 25 in Abuja. He also said that the 8th National Assembly will work
closely with the executive to eliminate corruption and entrench accountability
across all spheres of the public sector.
The Senate President cautioned that
discretionary spending of government resources, unbudgeted expenditures,
procurement abuses and diversion of public monies for personal gains must stop.
This is a good one coming from the
senate president. If they misbehave and don’t do their job according they shouldn’t
be re-elected. It is as simple as that.
