EX-POLICE OFFICER ARRESTED 3 YEARS AFTER SHOOTING HIS PREGNANT WIFE TO DEATH

A lengthy criminal probe has resulted in the arrest of a former Pennsylvania state officer, Joseph Miller who claims he accidentally shot and killed his pregnant wife.

Miller has now been charged with two counts of involuntary manslaughter in the 2014 shooting to death of his 34-year-old pregnant wife, Joanna. 
Miller, then a seven-year veteran with the state police, was off-duty when he shot and killed Joanna on March 7, 2014. 

He told investigators he was taking apart his 45-caliber semiautomatic handgun in the living room of his East Norriton home when it accidentally discharged, shooting her in the head.  

He said,

“I was about to clean my gun and I didn’t realize there was a round, I shot my wife. Fuck! I can’t believe I fucking did this.”  

Joanna, who was approximately 24 weeks pregnant, was rushed to a local hospital, where she was pronounced dead. Her baby did not survive. 

An autopsy conducted by Dr. Walter Hoffman, coroner for Montgomery County, determined that Joanna died of a “close-range gunshot wound” and the baby died as a result of a “maternal gunshot wound.”  

Asked by investigators whether he intentionally shot his wife, Miller, according to an interview transcript obtained by ABC News, replied: “I did not. It was an accident. I love her to death.”

AVIATION UNION STORM ARIK HEADQUARTERS, STAFF STAGE COUNTER PROTEST

The crisis rocking Arik airline seems far from over. This morning, members of the of Aviation unions stormed Arik headquarters in Lagos to challenge the airlines practice that's been under scrutiny of a while.

In response to them, staff of Arik airline also staged a counter protest denouncing the aviation union.

 

HIGH SCHOOL STUDENT COMMITS SUICIDE AFTER BEING DUMPED BY HIS GIRLFRIEND

A Ugandan High school student took his own life after he was dumped by his girlfriend.

According to a Facebook User, Jersey Sarprise, who shared the photos, the young man hanged himself to a tree after reportedly receiving a letter from his estranged bae, telling him she has found a new handsome boyfriend.

MEET THE GRANDPA WHO CAME OUT TO HIS FAMILY AS GAY AT AGE 95

 Roman is a 96yr old papa with a wife of 67yrs, two children, five grandchildren, one great-grandchild. Last year he came out as gay to his family aged 95. He told them in plain and simple language: 'I was born and almost all my life gay.'

He sat down with YouTuber, Davey Wavey to talk about his experience. Roman told Wavey he has known he was gay since he was just five years old.

He said he came out of the closet last year because of 'certain things I want the world to know'.
Roman said he told his family 'the whole tragedy of my life and then they understood what happened to me'. Speaking about the video Wavey said: 'I think there's a lot to take from this video.
'There's a sense of history in understanding how far we've come, and the struggles that this man must have experienced. There's gratitude for the LGBT people who marched and rallied and bleed and sweat so that today's world is different ― and that fewer people feel compelled to live in the shadows or closets.
'But there's also raw humanity. Whether you are queer or not, listening to Roman stirs something in all of us.

'And at a time when the world often feels divisive and divided, it's good to be reminded of our common humanity.' Roman hasn't given up on having a romance consistent with his sexual identity, he said he'll like to have a male companion.
'Somebody to lean against, somebody who feels the heart ticking and nobody can do that unless you let them.

'I want to go to sleep [and] have somebody close to me. Not for any other reason but to be sure that someone cares,' Roman said.
And when asked what type of man is he interested in, Roman said: 'I don't care. I don't look at the face, I look at the heart.'
His grandson, Brandon Gross is in the process of making a film about his grandfather titled On My Way Out.

EFCC RAIDS MUKHTAR IN-LAW’S HOUSE IN KANO

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) says it has recovered jewellries worth millions of Naira from a house allegedly belonging to one Akka Babba Danagundi.

Mr Danagundi is a brother in-law to the former National Security Adviser (NSA) to late President Umar Yar’Adua, Major General Abdullahi Mukhtar (rtd).

The items were said to have been found in a fireproof safe allegedly hidden in Danagundi’s house situated at number 375, Gwangwazo quarters of Kano municipal in 

Kano State, northwest Nigeria.

Sources close to the anti-graft agency told Channels Television correspondent that about 50 documents in respect of landed properties, bearing the name of the former NSA and his wife, Binta Sarki Mukhtar were also discovered.

“This discovery was sequel to an intelligence gathered from a whistleblower who tipped the Kano Zonal Office of the commission, alleging that huge sums of money including foreign currency were hidden in the premises.

“During the siting operation, Aiko Fireproof safe and seven suspects including the house owner, one Danagundi were arrested and brought to the commission’s Kano Zonal Office where their statements were taken under caution.

“In the course of investigation, we discovered that it was the General’s wife who brought the safe to her brother’s house for safe keeping and that her brother has no connection with what is in the safe.

“On arriving at the commission’s Kano Zonal Office, the safe was open and jewelleries such as necklaces and wristwatches, including 50 Certificates of Occupancy for properties located in Kano, Kaduna and Abuja were found.

“The jewelleries found include 55 wristwatches out of which three are gold, 37 gold jewelleries weighing 1,907.9g of 21 Karat and 671.3g of 18 Karat, and another 15 pieces of fashion jewelleries were found,” a source revealed.

Consequently, all the suspects arrested during the operation were released on administrative bail with the exception of Danagundi who is still in custody assisting the investigation.
