Dale Bolinger was convicted after three hours of deliberation by jurors

A nurse has been found guilty of planning to kill and eat a 14 year old girl to satisfy his cannibalism fetish.
It took jurors at Canterbury Crown Court three hours of deliberation to convict Dale Bolinger of trying to meet the teenager after sexually grooming her and promising to behead and eat her.
The 58-year-old brought an axe from a DIY store in Broadstairs, Kent, the day before he planned to meet the schoolgirl.
He used a fetish website to discuss beheading and eating women and girls for sexual gratification, the trial heard.
Bolinger told the girl in one online "The idea of us making love and then eating you is a VERY great turn on!
"I have been called a very generous lover and I would be very generous to you before I prepped you for the table."
However, the teenager, a Mexican girl called Eva, said to be living in Germany, failed to show up at Ashford International Station as planned.

Famous Actor James Garner dies at 86

James Garner, the understated, wisecracking everyman actor who enjoyed multigenerational success on both the small and big screens, has died. He was 86.
Police, who were called to his residence Saturday night in Los Angeles, say he died of natural causes.
Garner starred in hit TV series almost 20 years apart -- "Maverick" in the late 1950s and "The Rockford Files" in the 1970s.
He also had a notable film career, starring in such classics as "Sayonara" (1957), "The Great Escape" (1963), "The Americanization of Emily" (1964), "Grand Prix" (1966) and "Victor/Victoria" (1982), as well as the TV movies "My Name Is Bill W." (1989) and "Barbarians at the Gate" (1993). More recent films included "Space Cowboys" (2000) and "The Notebook" (2004).
He was fiercely independent, challenging the studios on both "Maverick" and "Rockford" when he felt he wasn't being treated fairly. He sued studios twice and won both times,
"The industry is like it always has been. It's a bunch of greedy people," he told The Los Angeles Times in 1990.

Garner was given a Screen Actors Guild Life Achievement Award in 2004. The actors' union head issued a statement about his death Sunday.

Ukraine launches assault on Donetsk rebels

Heavy fighting breaks out as Dutch inspectors head to crash site of Malaysia Airlines jet shot down 80km away.

Tunisia shuts 'unlicensed' media outlets

Tunisia has closed a satellite television channel and a radio station for promoting "jihad", a few days after armed fighters killed 15 soldiers, according to the government statement.
The decision came after fighters on Wednesday attacked two army posts in the remote Mount Chaambi region near the Algerian border, killing 15 soldiers in the worst attack in the Tunisian army's history.
The statement from the office of Prime Minister Mehdi Jomaa said on Sunday that the authorities had decided to shut down Nour FM radio and Al-Insen satellite channel.
The government said "the immediate closure of the unlicensed" media outlets came after they "turned into platforms for takfiris and jihad".
Takfiris are Muslims who accuse other Muslims of apostasy.
Many radio and television stations operate in Tunisia without permission.
The government warned in the statement that it would take "all necessary measures to deal with ... incitement of violence, terrorism and takfir on social networks".

A stranger knocks, gives woman $119,000 for life-saving treatment

What a difference a day makes.
On July 2, Stephanie Headley was counting the days she had left to live. The Ottawa woman is suffering from an autoimmune disease that, without expensive treatment, will cause her heart to fail.
On July 3, thanks to a mysterious stranger who showed up at her door, she had in her hands more than enough money to get the treatment that can save her life.
Two weeks later, she still struggles to explain the dramatic change in her fortune.
"This is a miracle" she told CNN partner CBC, referring to the mystery donor as an "angel that walks among us."
Hope with a cost
For 12 long years, the single mother of four has battled systemic scleroderma. The disease causes her body to overproduce collagen, making her skin, vital organs and blood vessels hard. Eventually the disease would have caused her heart to fail. And Headley says she felt time was running out.
But Headley had hope.
She told the Canadian TV stations, CBC and CTV, that she'd found a doctor in Chicago who could do a stem cell treatment. One with an 80% success rate.
However, the treatment came with a hefty $125,000 (US$ 116,000) price tag -- far out of reach for Headley.

Nigerians reaction to the removal of Adamawa state governor

On July 15, 2014, Governor Murtala Nyako of Adamawa State was  by the State House of Assembly on allegations of gross financial misconduct. We have asked ordinary Nigerians what they thought of the development.
What happened
Both Nyako and his deputy, Bala Ngilari, were served with the impeachment notice a month ago. Ngilari, who has resigned, is accused of extra-budgetary expenditure. On Tuesday, seventeen of the 25 members of the Assembly adopted the report of the investigation panel.
Following the news, the APC (All Progressives Congress), to which Nyako now belongs after leaving  (Peoples Democratic Party) in November 2013, has, traditionally, exchanged blows and stingy comments with its main political opponent.
